BOUNCING LIGHT

1. Light can be reflected.
 
2. You can see your own image in the mirror. How does this happen?
  
   a) The light from the light source falls on your body.
     
   b) This light is reflected into the mirror.
      
   c) The mirror then reflects the image into your eyes.

4. Object the have smooth & shiny surfaces like mirror and aluminium foil are good reflectors of light.
   
5. Reflection of light is very important in everyday life. Here are some of the examples:
 

a. Side mirrror
The driver of a vehicle uses the side-view mirror to see vehicle at the back.

b. Dental mirror

A dentist uses a dental mirror to look at the teeth of a patient.

c. Periscope
An officer in a submarine uses a periscope to look at the surface of the sea.

d. Convex mirror
Convex mirror are usually placed at a sharp bends of roads enable oncoming cars to be seen.
